Mode of Transport: From Colombo Fort  to Nanuoya : Train / Nanuoya to Nuwara Eliya : Bus / Nuwara Eliya To Home (Delgoda) : Car

Train Route (Main Cities): Colombo Fort – Ragama - Polgahawela – Peradeniya - Kandy - Nawalapitiya – Watawala - Hatton – Nanu Oya

I enjoyed my third trip of the year for 2013. I went to Nuwara Eliya with my mother. We had a great time together. The trip is 3 days and two nights.

On 24th, Vesak Day morning we took the train 'Podi Manike' from Colombo Fort to Nanuoya  The train got delayed and it starts our journey at around 6.30.  Unfortunately we couldn't reserve a seat in advance. So that we just go to railway station and bought second class ticket to Nanuoya and then hop in to the train. Fortunately I was able to find a seat for my mother at Rambukkana. My stamina level is good….When passing Kandy, I got a seat. There are diverse of people in our compartment.

After passing Nawalapitiya we were able to see lot of beautiful sceneries. The view from my window was beautiful & the background is amazing. The train goes through lush green tea estates and mountains make me feel very fresh and happy.  Finally we were reached to our destination around 2.30 PM.  From Nanuoya we got a bus to Nuwara Eliya. We reached Nuwara Eliya Bus Stand at around 3.15. My uncle comes with a car to pick us. Then we went to our holiday home and got fresh. Again we came to town and travel around the city. In the evening we went to a temple situated close city to worship Lord Buddha.

During these 3 days we went Piduruthalagala Mountain, Victoria Park & Haggala Botnical Garden and visit Grand Hotel Nuwara Eliya. On our final day we were hangout area near Gregory Lake.

Finally we leave from Nuwara Eliya @ 2.00 PM.  On our way near Ramboda we eat hot ‘Pol Roti’ from ‘Apachis Kade’. It was very tasty.  It was a good, memorable trip.
