This time I went on a trip with some of my office mates. We were stayed at a Chalet (Eco) called ‘Diyakiriththa’ in Handapanagala area. On our first day we didn’t visit much places. Our main target is to go Yala National Park early in the morning on following day. Our plan is to spend a half a day Safari tour. I am not going to write down so many details. I thought of sharing more photos with you all. This was the first time I visited a National Park & saw so many wild animals. It was awesome !!!

Day 02

Route:  Hadapanagala - Katharagama - Thissamaharama - Yala (Via Buththala Katharagama Road)

Yala National Park

Yala National Park is the most visited and second largest national park in Sri Lanka. The park consists of five blocks, two of which are now open to the public, and also adjoining parks. The blocks have individual names such as, Ruhuna National Park (block 1) and Kumana National Park or 'Yala East' for the adjoining area. It is situated in the southeast region of the country, and lies in Southern Province and Uva Province.

Day 03

On our way back to home we have vested Buduruwagala Rock Temple, Kiri vehera Temple & Kataragama Maha Devale

Bururuwagala Rock temple

Buduruwagala is an ancient buddhist temple in Sri Lanka. The complex consists of seven statues and belongs to the Mahayana school of thought. The statues date back to the 10th century. The gigantic Buddha statue still bears traces of its original stuccoed robe and a long streak of orange suggests it was once brightly painted. The central of the three figures to the Buddha's right is thought to be the Buddhist mythological figure-the Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara. To the left of this white painted figure is a female figure in the thrice-bent posture, which is thought to be his consort-Tara.

Kiri Vehera Temple

Kiri Vehera is an ancient stupa built by King Mahasena and situated in Kataragama, Sri Lanka. It is 95 ft. in height with a circumference of 280 ft. This structure probably dates back to the 3rd century BC.

Kataragama Maha Devale

Kataragamam temple) in Kataragama, Sri Lanka, is a Hindu and Buddhist temple complex dedicated to Skanda-Murukan also known as Kataragama deviyo. It is one of the few religious sites in Sri Lanka that is venerated by the majority Sinhala Buddhists, minority Hindu Tamils, Muslims and the Vedda people. It is a collection of modest shrines, of which the one dedicated to Skanda-Murukan, also known as Kataragama deviyo, is the most important. For most of the past millennia, it was a jungle shrine very difficult to access; today it is accessible by an all-weather road.

A completely eco-friendly environment, spacious, secure, jungle resort bordering the Menik Ganga (river frontage) with many attractions.
